Programme to support the Philippine Health Sector Reform Agenda

    Description

This project supported the Philippine government in implementing its Health Sector Reform Agenda (HSRA). In order to strengthen the local governments responsible for providing healthcare to the population following the decentralisation in 1991, the FC loan funded measures to improve the provision of services. These measures included 12 sub-loans and performance-based grants to local government units, which funded measures to improve access to and improve the quality of health services in a total of 21 health facilities. The main investments were the structural renovation and partial extension of the existing facilities and the procurement of medical and non-medical equipment.
