FCE publishes its evaluation findings in various reports. Firstly, there are the abstracts of all ex post evaluations covering individual projects. These project evaluation reports follow a set format. Regardless of the sector concerned, or the peculiarities of the specific project, every ex post evaluation addresses the following key issues:
In what ways have the partner country, the sector and the project environment changed since project preparation? Was the project selectively targeted on a significant point of constraint in the partner country, and did it contribute to resolving a core problem?

Did project implementation proceed as originally planned (plan v. actual comparison of actions, costs and financing)? What were the root causes of any deviations?
Which project design elements proved effective, and which less so? To what extent were the main planned effects realised, and how sustainable will they prove to be?
What other positive or negative effects (including unforeseen effects) were observed? From today's perspective, what could and should be improved or done differently in new projects?
Secondly, KfW also publishes analysis reports (evaluation reports) every two years. Alongside detailed performance statistics, these reports also contain analyses of different sectors or regions, and focus on different topic areas. KfW’s assessment rating system is clarified using examples from projects, showing why a project is rated as successful (rating 1 - 3) or not successful (rating 4-6).
