Development cooperation and COVID-19
Interview with Roland Siller, Member of the Management Committee KfW Development Bank
The COVID-19 pandemic puts the progress of many years at risk in developing countries. The institutions of development cooperation are being called on like never before, while at the same time they must adapt their work on the ground to the conditions under the pandemic. Roland Siller, member of the management committee of KfW Development Bank, discussed this with Masood Ahmad of the Center for Global Development in CGDev’s “Conversations on Covid-19” series. Listen in to learn how KfW in response to the pandemic manages to increase its financing commitments (on behalf of the German federal government) by half, and which long-term trends in development finance are being created or accelerated by the global situation.
