Economic efficiency of gender equality in care work
Care work makes gender inequalities visible – women account for approximately 62.1% of the world’s paid health and care workforce, and an estimated 76% of all unpaid care work.
This one pager analyses the economic aspects of the lack of investment in care systems from a gender equality perspective. Disadvantages to women should not just be seen as an obstacle to development. Rather, promoting gender equality in care work is also a lever for achieving economic stability and ultimately the fulfilment of Agenda 2030.
