Digital transformation is a prerequisite for many of KfW Development Bank’s partner countries to make their economic and social systems more resilient. The use of digital and innovative solutions can make a difference in the fight against hunger and poverty, pandemics, climate change and the disadvantage of women, which is why the financial cooperation portfolio with a digital focus has doubled compared to the previous year.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) will also reposition itself as part of the Federal Republic's national digital strategy. Minister Svenja Schulze is therefore inviting a broad network of international partners from the digital scene to the launch event in Berlin on De-cember 1, 2022. The CEO of KfW Banking Group, Stefan Wintels, will also be present at the event.

"As a digital transformation and promotional bank, KfW works together with business and politics to support the development and implementation of innovative and digital solutions to meet global challenges. The digital.global-network is a great initiative for jointly leveraging this potential," says Stefan Wintels about the planned network of organisations from development cooperation, the digital economy, civil society and academia.

Other high-ranking participants include Secretary General and BDT Director Doreen Bogdan-Martin and Chair of the GIZ Management Board Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel. The event can be followed live via stream on the BMZ's new digital.global website. Further information on the event is also available there.
